A three-year-old Shih Tzu/poodle blend named Sage, barely weighs four pounds, and on Wednesday, the dog owner’s teen daughter has been accused of kicking the dog in the face because he annoyed her when he barked.

According to the Eastpointe Police Department Animal Control Division in Detroit, Michigan, 19-year-old daughter, Dezhiar Blaire, kicked the dog so hard, the pint-sized pooch suffered significant head trauma and wound up losing an eye.
His eye fell out of its socket and had to be surgically removed. Dezhiar Blair has been charged with third-degree animal torture. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash surety.
Sage is reported to be doing well and has been returned to his owner.

On Friday, a significant step was taken toward justice for Sage. Blair was arraigned before Judge Crouchman on charges of Third-Degree Animal Torture. Besides the $50,000 bond, Blair was also ordered to have no contact with or possession of any animals.
