On Saturday, February 21, the goldendoodle rescued by Las Vegas Metro Police Department and airport staff at Harry Reid International Airport two weeks ago has officially landed in his new, loving home.

The dog, named Jet Blue, had been abandoned at Harry Reid International Airport on February 2. The owner of the dog was caught on surveillance video as she checked in at the JetBlue ticket counter.

The woman had not completed the necessary paperwork in order to fly with the dog as a service animal, and the staff denied her a boarding pass. She tied the dog to a baggage sizer in Terminal 3, and within less than a minute walked away without the dog.

The dog affectionately nicknamed Jet Blue was permanently placed by Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas with the family of one of the officers who helped rescue the two-year-old dog.

LVMPD Officer Skeeter Black and his family had been on the waiting list to adopt a golden doodle since September 2025 through Retriever Rescue of Las Vegas. After already being approved months ago, they were selected as Jet Blue’s new forever home.

The outpouring of support from our community throughout this situation has been overwhelming, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped ensure this pup received the care and compassion he deserved.
Bon voyage, Jet Blue and welcome to a new life where you’ll be loved beyond words by Officer Black and his family.
If you applied to adopt Jet Blue as so many wonderful people wanted to open their homes to this boy, please check shelters and rescue organizations near your homes. There are so many sweethearts just like Jet Blue who would love a home. Just say “Jet Blue sent us.”
