A mother duck had other ideas how her ducklings should have been rescued from a storm drain on Tuesday, and she made her views well known.

On Tuesday, officers and firemen from the Kettering Police Department and fire department in Ohio, helped to rescue ducklings one by one after removing a storm drain grate in a parking lot. It had been a member of the Kettering Fire Department who climbed down into the grate and safely plucked each duckling up to the safety of the sidewalk – mom duck not far away and no doubt not in agreement with the plan.

While rescuers were working to free the little ones, mom duck attacked a few times.

the mother duck strongly disagreed with nearly every part of the operation. Despite very aggressive supervision and repeated aerial assaults on first responders, the rescue mission was a success. this may be the only time we have been unable to make the scene safe before KFD arrived.

The mother quickly reunited with her precious babies, and off they went seemingly undisturbed by the drama.
