Broken little pup finds her way to compassionate rescuers

At the Tunica Humane Society in Mississippi, a broken little dog found her way to the rescue organization through efforts of a kind and compassionate Good Samaritan.

Her name is Pebbles, and she was found hiding under a home near the Mississippi River on Wednesday. She would not have been able to get there unless someone had abandoned her. The woman who owns the home thinks someone dropped her off in her yard, and then the tiny dog was so frightened, she ran under the house to hide.

It’s hard to believe that Pebbles really is a young dog. The problem is that she has likely been neglected from the day she was born. Most of her coat is gone from flea and skin irritations, Her nails have never been trimmed. She suffers from dry eye syndrome; her eyes are so painful because they have never been treated.

And Pebbles is so skinny; all of her ribs show through the dirty matting and total neglect.

It is so heartbreaking to see Pebbles in this condition, but she will now get everything she needs to regain her health and her beauty.

Some people should never have the privilege of sharing their lives with a dog.

We can hardly wait until Pebbles starts to bloom. Updates to follow.
