UPDATE: Three-month-old puppy suffering from unexplained serious injuries making miraculous recovery

At Stray Rescue of St. Louis, another pup in dire need continues to receive the special medical and emotional help needed because of the kindness and generosity of a community that keeps on giving to those who don’t have the ability to speak for themselves.

This is one of those situations where there had been multiple stories how the puppy, dubbed Sitka, had been injured; all rescuers knew, however was the puppy needed help, and that’s just what happened.

When he arrived at Stray Rescue, 25-pound Sitka’s jaw was broken. He also had lameness in one of his front legs, so despite what people had said, the doctors believed he had been hit by a car.

Just two days later, Sitka’s condition was strong enough to undergo “massive” surgery to repair his jaw.

And in just four more days in recovery, Sitka was chowing down on his specially prepared breakfast. Check this out:

Who is ready for dinner time with Sitka!

Here you can see how well he can eat all by himself, after JUST having major jaw surgery, and actually having part of his jaw removed. He will not need a feeding tube, he will live a normal life! He’ll get better and better as he heals and gets stronger (and remember, he’s just a baby himself!) but he might always be a little messier than most dogs! We’ll take it!

Sitka is back at Stray Rescue! He does look amazing, don’t you think?

Thank you everyone so much for helping. His total bill so far is about $10,000, but he is worth every penny! If you can give today, any amount will help cover his bill! We hope he’s ready to get Stray Rescue treatment and be given so much love.
