Just recently an adorable, little black dog named Moose found himself in a “ruff” situation. Moose had made a break from his family on October 23 and ended up under a northbound train at the 14 Street subway station.
Meanwhile, Moose had been struck by the train, but luckily only suffered minor injuries, but that lap of his escape had scared him to the point where he hid under one of the cars.
Fortunately, Moose was spotted, and a 911 call went to the New York Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit where officers quickly arrived at the area where Moose had been hiding. He used a flashlight to find the little guy – remember he’s a small black dog in a dark area.
One officer climbed down a ladder onto the subway tracks to reach Moose, while the other officers as well as transit officers stood watch nearby.
And true to the bravery of the best police force in the country – yea NYPD -the officer got down on his hands and knees and found Moose. The officer gently coaxed the frightened pooch to come closer and soon was able to reach for him under the train and bring him to safety.
Safe!
