Devastating Update: No sooner had I published the story of Hope, Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform posted the following update. Rest in peace little one.

Late last night, the on-duty staff informed us that Hope’s body was shutting down, and she was experiencing immense pain. After much consideration, we made the heartbreaking decision to let her peacefully cross over the rainbow bridge. We want to express our gratitude to everyone for their unwavering support during this challenging time. We held onto hope for a miracle, but at every turn, we encountered setbacks and resistance.

We deeply apologize that we couldn’t provide Hope with the life she deserved

A devastating house fire near Dallas left a family homeless and their tiny puppies in desperate need. The terrified puppies were able to flee, but not before the intense heat of the fire caused plastic to melt all over their tiny bodies.

Three of the puppies were found that terrible night of December 29; they had hidden under parked cars and visibly shivered while huddling together for just a bit of warmth and reassurance from each other. What happened to the fourth puppy? No one could find her, but rescuers from Dallas Dog -Rescue.Rehab.Reform continued the search.

It wasn’t until 24 hours later that the last puppy was finally located. Hearts sank when they saw the severe burns, swollen face and the need for immediate life-saving care. Arrangements had already been made to transport the other three puppies to Dallas for care. And for the puppy in critical condition, she was rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital. For her, time was of the essence.

Meet Hope – she is the most seriously burned and is being transferred to the hospital here?

Sadly, Hope’s fight for her life remains a challenge. As if this puppy hadn’t endured so much after surviving a fire and spending nearly three days alone on the streets before rescuers found her, another huge hurdle has been brought before her; Hope tested positive for Parvovirus – a disease often fatal to puppies because of their immature immune systems.

Hope was already in a critical condition, with her blood levels at a dangerous level. We urgently need your support to save her life. We started Canine Parvovirus Monoclonal Antibody (It binds to the virus and stops it from adhering to the gut cells so it cannot replicate).

With Hope’s already expensive journey, this disease makes it worse. Let’s come together as a community and show Hope that she is not alone. Your donation will help provide the necessary medical treatment and care she desperately needs.

We remain hopeful that Hope will turn the corner and start to improve. But we also understand that the odds are stacked against her. Your thoughts and prayers mean the world to us as we continue to fight for her recovery.
