UPDATE! RESCUED!

An incredibly sweet pair of dogs were surrendered to Memphis Animal Services on May 11, 2023 by their owner due to health reasons. One of the dogs has been placed on the euthanasia list. These two dogs have been together since they were puppies.

Peddi now has a deadline plea of today, Monday, June 19 to be rescued or she will be killed. When they come for Peddi, Rawdi will be left in the kennel alone for the first time ever. All these girls have are each other.

For the month the dogs have been at the shelter, they have behaved well. This is what we know about each of them:

Peddi #MASA23616

This pet has been marked as at-risk, meaning he or she has medical or behavioral concerns that need to be addressed outside of the shelter as soon as possible.

PEDDI has been marked at-risk due to moderate FAS.

Peddi went to playgroup on 6/3/23. She was friendly social and playful, and didn’t overwhelm the smaller dogs in the yard despite her size. She interacted appropriately with a male of similar size.

Rawdi #MASA23615

This girl has been at MAS for a month without a single adoption inquiry. She is estimated to be 2.5 years old, weighs 48 pounds and is heartworm negative.

During her time with a staff member recently, she proved to be a breeze to leash, walking calmly to the turf yard. Outside, she quickly took care of her business, showing excellent potty manners.

Rawdi has a curious nature and enjoys exploring her surroundings. She showed interest in the dogs in neighboring yards, following them along the fence, although she’s not particularly keen on engaging in play. She prefers to keep to herself and appreciate the company from a distance. When it comes to affection, Rawdi knows exactly how to capture your heart. She often sought out cuddles and kisses. Her sweet and gentle nature makes her the perfect companion for someone seeking a calm and loving presence in their life.

Follow their plight here. Please share their story with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives. These girls deserve better.
