Furry Friends Refuge, a no-kill animal shelter located in Des Moines, Iowa is asking for the public’s help locating the owner of a 14-year-old husky found on Monday in a resident’s front yard. The dog had been wrapped in a blue blanket and was not able to stand or walk.

The dog named Buddha has been receiving emergency veterinarian care and bloodwork has been sent off for an initial diagnosis to help this dog.

He did not end up where he was found on his own. Beyond the hurt we feel for buddha being left on his own unable to move, we have no history which would be extremely valuable to trying to help him medically. If you know anything about buddha, please notify the rescue.

Buddha does have a microchip and all of the phone numbers listed as his owner have been contacted, but there have been no responses.

The following information has supplied more details as to the condition and location where Buddha was found. He was taken to Blue Pearl for treatment.

EDIT: The dog received medical care at Blue Pearl and is now at Furry Friends. Thank you everyone for sharing.

Location: Merle Hay Area, Urbandale/Des Moines

I hate to add this edit, but I clarified with my boyfriend that the dog was wrapped in the blanket when he found him. We don’t know if the person that hit the dog wrapped him or if someone dumped him.

Facebook community news.

The Good Samaritan who found Buddha later posted the following:

I didn’t want to post this because the picture is very sad but Brandon found this dog on our street this morning. We live on 59th street off Meredith in the Merle Hay area. We are assuming he was hit by a car and left. He rushed him to Blue Pearl Vet on Merle Hay but we don’t know anything else about the condition of the dog. If people could share this I would appreciate it. I’m sure someone is looking for their dog.
