In an early morning search warrant for a home in Jensen Beach, Florida, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team had a most unique and heartwarming experience while serving a warrant during a potentially dangerous situation.

with every search warrant, you usually have a runner. But this time, the runner seemed like he was more interested in jumping to the law enforcement side while a house full of suspects were being arrested.

As the special investigation detectives, accompanied by the MCSO SWAT Team, entered the home with a warrant, a dog named Bear ran out the door, past detectives and jumped into the MCSO armored BearCat where two SWAT members had been staged during the operation.

And that’s where Bear decided to relax and observe for the rest of the morning. He waited patiently while five people inside of the home were arrested on drug charges. The suspects face multiple charges.

The exceptional work and training of law enforcement acted appropriately by not taking aim at Bear; even though he was spotted running, he didn’t pose any threat.

As for Bear, it seems as if this very clever and law-abiding pup got to spend “his own dream version of Smokey and the Bear Cat.” All we know about Bear is that this dog made all the right decisions and of course – the right moves.

He is reported to be in good hands.
