We read about free and low priced dogs offered to anyone who wants to take them from Craigslist. There are the very real dangers of trying to sell or adopt pets through online ads. Often times, scammers find dogs for free from unsuspecting owners, and then advertise them on Craigslist for exorbitant prices. Then there is the worst of offenders; those who hoard or abuse them.

Then again, there’s always a compassionate person trying to adopt a dog; perhaps someone who is saving a dog from a terrible fate.

A TikTok video went viral this week after @erdenweiner introduced us to a six-month-old German shepherd puppy who had been neglected and likely abused.

Check out her first video:

“Found a rescue dog on craigslist. She didn’t know how to walk up stairs. She is 6 months old and had been kept in a cage. While being fed and let out once a day. Initially, we wanted to just meet her but had to keep her to help her. She was scared and didn’t go down the long stairs.

She hasn’t made any sound of noise. Her breeder had so many dogs that he would shush them all the time by intimidating the. She was always sleeping like this like she is in a tiny space. She followed us everywhere we went in the house…

The puppy came from a breeder and didn’t have a name yet; her new family named her Nymeria. Her previous owner said she was not wanted, and that people who wanted to adopt and purchase dogs usually wanted males. Potential purchasers also didn’t like her sable coat coloring. They did add, however that the dog “is a gentle, old soul.”

The previous owner, however didn’t give the new family any vaccination history nor were they upfront telling the family that Nymeria was actually nine months old and suffered from both pan osteitis and dysplasia; both conditions of the dog’s long bones.

Since her adoption, Nymeria has four TikTok videos – the first one garnering more than four million views. We hope 2023 is the best year ever for this precious pup. Her new family plans to give her everything she needs both emotionally and physically. This sweet girl is one lucky pup.
