At the Bradshaw Animal Shelter in Sacramento, California, a dog named Steven Tyler had been reported to continually stare out the window of his shelter pen putting his best face forward as potential adopters walked by.

According to the shelter’s TikTok video, the only time the young pup who has been at the shelter since July 25, 2023, is not at the window is when he is cuddled up in his bed with his friend, Helga, who he met during doggy playtime.

Of course his story brings us all to tears, but please keep reading and watching until the end:

Viewers became quite emotional over the sweet boy’s video, and hundreds of comments urged everyone to share the two-year-old dog’s plight. The video garnered more than 500,000 views.

So let us get to the best part of the story now. It wasn’t long after the video hit the social media scene that so many wonderful people shared, that a family saw the video and brought their entire family, including their dog named Tahoe, to the shelter to meet Steven Tyler.

As soon as they met, they knew he was coming home with them. They shared, “He’s a gem. He got along with our dog instantly, and he is SO good with our kids. He’s sweet and loving and it feels like he’s been here forever. He fits our family perfectly. And we renamed him Donner!”

P.S. The other dog in the video, Helga, has also been adopted.
