Our hearts hurt for Chloe Sue, a 16-year-old chihuahua who lived with one person all her life and was just surrendered to a shelter in Benton, Louisiana. And to make life even harder for this adorable little senior – Chloe Sue is also blind.

According to Ninna’s Road to Rescue, the owner was experiencing some life struggles, moving and not allowed to bring Chloe Sue with her. And because the shelter’s founder, Ninna has a special place in her heart for the seniors, Chloe Sue hit the senior lottery.

This is what we know about Chloe Sue:

1. I have lived my entire life with one human;

2. I slept in a dog bed in the mud room of my former home;

3. I don’t remember when I lost my sight but because I can’t see, I would need to stay in an area that I can get used to;

4. I don’t mind car rides, bad weather or fireworks;

5. I don’t know anything about a leash;

6. I am pee-pad trained but I do miss sometimes because I am blind;

7. I don’t mind baths or my nails being trimmed;

8. I can still hear a little bit when it’s loud noises or high-pitched sounds;

9. I’m really tiny so I really need someone who can protect me;

10. I don’t know how much longer I have so I would love a home that understands that I’m old, that my joints and bones are stiff sometimes, that I may walk funny, that I just mainly want to sleep and be warm and get a snuggle and a scratch every now and then.

This adorable little nugget weighs in at four pounds and does have some arthritis, but loves to be loved. She’s a snuggle bunny, but occasionally can get a bit disoriented and therefore does best in a small area with no obstacles to sully her paths.

We can only imagine how sad Chloe Sue must feel after having spent her entire life with one person, but she deserves the best retirement and is looking for a home for the final chapter of her life.

Here she is:

She is good with other dogs and cats.

  1. If I was local, I would apply to adopt this precious little treasure😀😀😀 I have many years of experience with “special needs” dogs and cats. If she can be transported to Washington state, we would love to adopt her!!!

    I hope someone local will open up their heart and home for this precious little treasure. She deserves to be with a loving furever family for the rest of her life.
