A lost dolphin trying to swim his way back to the sea in the Netherlands was accosted by a woman who repeatedly trying to mount the animal to go for a ride. Bathers in the area tried to stop her.
According to Yahoo News, the topless woman grabbed hold of the animal’s dorsal fin and tried to jump on its back. The pointy-nosed dolphin had been swimming in the waters of Zandvoort when it became disoriented and headed towards the shore instead of swimming out to sea. A video posted on Twitter showed bathers trying to stop the woman while others clapped as she climbed over its back.
An investigation is currently underway to determine if a crime has been committed. The woman turned herself over to authorities. SOS Colfijn, a whale rescue organization. stated it was “very disturbing” watching the woman harass the dolphin. It is not known why the deep-sea animal had been in the shallow waters.
The organization’s spokeswoman, Annemarie van den Berg, stated that they were probably lost. “If they end up in the North Sea, they run into trouble. These animals do not survive well in this type of water. They forage at a depth of two or three kilometers,

Their goal is turn the dolphins around so they head in the right direction back toward the North Sea.
