San Pedro, CA – A friendly German shepherd is urgently in need of help in San Pedro. The senior dog, estimated to be eight years of age, is at the Los Angeles Animal Services (Harbor Shelter) and he must exit on Friday, November 18.

The facility’s “Life Saving Liaison/Foster program coordinator” writes, “Duke” #A2049948 in Need of Rescue by Friday 11/18/22 4 pm.”

Adding:

It’s really hard seeing this big friendly guy struggling to use his back legs. He enjoys going out on short walks with staff and volunteers but lately he has been having a more difficult time getting around and has needed assistance with a sling. His legs are not as strong as they used to be.
Still he enjoys short walks to the yard and hanging out with his handler while enjoying fresh air and sun. Duke has not been successfully dog tested in the shelter.
Harbor would love to see Duke find a loving and comfortable home to help him with his medical concerns and help him live out the rest of his years comfortably.

Duke is described as very “sweet,” and those who have met him are hopeful that a rescue group will step up to help him find an adopter for the remainder of his life.

You can help make this possible by sharing his adoption profile information! Find his profile at this link.
