On Sunday, someone drove to a closed Kentucky animal shelter and abandoned a dog. Surveillance footage caught the incident which shows a man pulling up to the fence at the Clark County Animal Shelter, hoisting a dog to the top, and then dumping the dog before driving away within minutes.

The animal shelter writes:

UNACCEPTABLE!
DOG TOSSED OVER FENCE AT SHELTER!
Shelter staff arrived at the shelter around 9:45pm to try to save a sick puppy being surrendered from the community. At arrival we discovered a medium size pit bull type dog had been abandoned at our facility.

According to the shelter, nobody reached out to them beforehand and they went back through their emails, Facebook messages, and phone messages to ensure that something wasn’t missed. The animal welfare agency writes:

Our staff can be reached by any of these methods even after hours and there are instructions on the machine to reach someone for emergencies. We make ourselves available because we care about animals and they shouldn’t be punished because of people.

Adding:

We are asking this person to contact us immediately to complete proper surrender procedures and give us the information we need to be able to find this dog a new home.

According to the post, the shelter was able to get a clear image of the license plate on the car and they will proceed with criminal charges if the person does not come forward. Abandonment of an animal is a class A misdemeanor.

  1. WTF is wrong with this POS??? Does this POS not fear burning in Hell forever for his cruelty??? How can anyone be so cruel and disgusting to a helpless, trusting soul???

I hope this precious treasure is rehomed into a wonderful furever family ASAP. He deserves to be treated as a beloved family member for his entire life.

I tell my husband that there are days that I would sell him for chocolate, but I would never hurt him (although I often warn him that I drink tea for his personal protection)……
