Stray fluff ball had been on street over a year and people threw rocks at her

For more than a year, the stray dog that people threw rocks at scavenged the streets near Los Angeles eating trash trying to survive on her own. So many times rescuers tried to save her, but the clever little pooch with the filthy, matted coat, eluded traps and Good Samaritans who only wanted to help her.

It was on Tuesday afternoon that the pup’s life would finally change for the better. Suzette Hall, founder of the rescue, Logan’s Legacy 29 started in memory of her son, was asked to help again. It was today that the dog was seen limping; she had been struck by a car, and her physical condition was quickly deteriorating.

Covered in oil, fleas and you can see her bones, very matted and cloudy eyes. But her life on the streets for a whole year was finally over.

The dog, dubbed Amadora, (gift from God) was rescued. On the way to the emergency veterinarian hospital the dog slept – even snored. She finally knew she had been saved. Her physical examination revealed she had a broken let; how she endured the pain is unknown.

I can’t even begin to tell you the joy I feel knowing she is finally safe. Finally off the street. Finally rescued. But she needs so much more. Time to let her feel love. And get the much needed vetting.

Today, Amadora will be bathed and groomed. She will undergo routine bloodwork, and her leg will be placed in a splint/cast. And now her new life begins.

Donations are needed to cover Amadora’s veterinarian care.
