A senior wolf-mix finds himself in need of a new home after the death of his owner. The dog, named Wolfe, is in the care of High Country Humane in Flagstaff, Arizona. On Friday morning, the animal-welfare agency posted an image of Wolfe, explaining his current situation:

Wolfe is a really special guy, he came in when his owner passed away a few weeks back, Wolfe was with him when he passed. 😢

He’s a senior wolf mix who has lived with his owner since he was a puppy. He’s never been around strangers or new people so he’s a little timid at first, but so deserving of a second chance at life and love with a new family.

The shelter is hoping to find a home for Wolfe that includes an owner with knowledge of the breed, as well as no other pets, writing, “He is potty trained and we think would be best in a home without other dogs, cats or small kids. He’s never had any of these in his life and doesn’t seem to be very fond of other dogs. He’s a special guy, who’s pretty sensitive so a few meet & greets may be best.”
