Did you hear the one about a missing border collie wandering into a police station after getting lost and waiting to be helped by the officer on duty? Late last week, Rosie walked through the automatic doors of the police station in Loughborough, Leicestershire, and it was all caught on surveillance video.

The pack at Loughborough Police Station made a new furry friend last week after a lost dog strolled into the station. We’ve collared the CCTV of the Border Collie, Rosie, so you can see her approaching the doors before walking in and taking a seat in the corner. Good dog!

According to the Leicestershire Police Station, Rosie had been walking together with her owner and another dog when she somehow got separated. Her owner had been frantic and searched everywhere for her dog. One hour later, however Rosie showed up at the police station.

Our staff fetched some water for Rosie, and made fast friends with plenty of fuss. Thankfully she was wearing a collar, so a lead was available to contact Rosie’s owner, who was delighted she had been found safe and well. Rosie was being walked nearby with a second dog when she managed to wander off. What a lovely, clever dog

Of course, Rosie quickly became a social media star when the police station posted the video on their Facebook page.

The Nottingham Post reported Rosie had been on leash when she panicked after hearing a firecracker explode. Shortly after she ran away, the police called asking the owners if they had a black and white collie and that the dog had just turned herself in to the police.
