Las Vegas, Nevada – A man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after hotel security found a three-month-old puppy, whose mouth was taped closed, inside of a hot car parked on the top floor of the parking garage at the Bellagio hotel and casino. Security officers climbed in through the car’s sunroof to rescue the puppy, who was in distress in the car that registered a temperature of 108 degrees and was parked in the direct sun reports WCIA News.
Police arrested Raul Carbajal, of Corona Del Mar, California, for animal abuse. Carbajal had been inside of the casino for approximately an hour before the puppy was noticed and saved.
Carbajal was released after posting bond; he is due in court next week. The puppy survived – it is unclear if he/she suffered injury from being left in the car.
