Update 9/9/2022: The shelter has stated that Miss Lady has been adopted!

An elderly dog, who was adopted from a shelter in New Mexico, was given no time to adjust to her new life – her adopter returned her to the same shelter just one day after the adoption was completed. The sad situation involved a 13(+)-year-old dog named Miss Lady.

The Socorro Shelter shared Miss Lady’s plight on Facebook Wednesday evening, writing:

Miss lady was adopted yesterday afternoon and brought back today. They claimed she was disruptive because she was up at night pacing, as well as barking. We are once again looking for someone to adopt this sweet dog and give her a home to spend out her life.

Dogs need time to adjust to their surroundings…time to relax and realize that they are safe. But Miss Lady was not given that opportunity. She was taken in, and then promptly discarded.

The shelter describes her sweet personality, and how people can make inquiries about her:

Miss lady is our oldest resident, she is partially deaf and is looking for a good, loving home where she can spend the rest of her life. She is very friendly, loving, and laid-back. She would fit right in with any family, and would love to go home with you! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Miss Lady, please contact us to schedule an appointment at (575)838-3103

Location: Socorro, New Mexico
