Two-year-old Alaskan Klee Kais dogs, Jack and his 11-month-old canine pal Apple from Salem, Oregon, thought their owners’ lottery ticket was a treat and ate it! Fortunately they didn’t digest the ticket, but chomped it into tiny pieces.

Fortunately, their owners, Nathan and Rachael Lamet picked up all the pieces and mailed it to the Oregon State Lottery. The Oregon Lottery shared the information. The couple included a note explaining what had happened and added a photo which included photos of the dogs.

“For some reason we left the ticket on the ottoman and they decided it was delicious. I went to bed and when I woke up it was eaten to the point that I thought it was unable to be checked. But my husband thought it was hilarious and someone might get a good laugh at at the very least. He said it’s for sure a winner.”

Lottery officials decided to piece the ticket together and discovered the $3.00 ticket for the Pharaoh’s Gold Crossword game was indeed a winner and paid out the $8.00 prize to the two human owners.

Although the lottery officials admitted this is the first time they received a winning ticket the “dog ate,” they have also received tickets out of the washing machine, tickets that have fallen in the mud and even one run over by a vehicle.

That’s too funny. We are definitely getting more chew toys, they go through a lot. We love them, but they are crazy sometimes.

Lottery officials strongly suggest you keep tickets out of the reach of your dogs.
