A dog being held at an animal shelter in Nebraska is losing hope of ever being adopted after spending more than 170 days in her lonely kennel run. On March 17, the Central Nebraska Humane Society posted a poignant image of a husky mix named Dandelion, writing:
Our blue eyed girl has spent 173 days watching every dog that came after her, get adopted before her.
She is losing her spirit behind these kennel bars.
Though the staff and volunteers do all that they can to keep Dandelion happy, they realize that there is only so much that CAN be done…what she wants (and needs) is a real home, with a family who will love her. According to the shelter’s Facebook post, Dandelion LOVES other dogs and people, but she is best suited to a home with no cats.
The shelter writes:
Surely there has to be someone out there that has her ideal home. She is HIGH energy and needs room to run. She is learning basic commands quickly but still has room for improvement.
According to the shelter, Dandelion is “safe” and she will sit on their floor until she is adopted. While it is comforting to know that Dandelion will not be put down, it is heartbreaking to know that she is suffering emotionally as she continues to wait. Please help get Dandelion’s information out – someone out there is perfect for her!
