In Narragansett, Rhode Island, the police are asking for the public’s help finding the person responsible for shooting a dog in the head and throwing his body in the Narrow River. A $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved has been offered by the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
On Thursday, the police posted the plea on Facebook stating the dog had been found wrapped in black garbage bags.
According to the Naragansett Police, the black male dog was five or six years of age.
“The canine appears to be a mature male (5-6 years-old), terrier type dog black in color. The canine appears to have a severe, systemic skin infection that would be immediately recognizable to anyone that knew this dog.
It is hoped a member of the community recognizes the description of the dog and reports the heinous crime. The investigation continues.
