In Boynton Beach, Florida, a 34-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly beating his uncle’s tiny ShihTzu to death with a shovel and then tossing the dog’s body into the canal.
According to CbsNews, Christopher Eloshway was arrested on Monday and charged with felony animal cruelty and the unlawful disposal of a dead animal.
An investigation began in September when deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a domestic dispute. A neighbor told detectives Eloshway asked to borrow a shovel to kill his uncle’s 10-pound dog. The neighbor thought Eloshway was joking, but then he saw the suspect beat the dog to death while the animal cried. He then picked up the dog by the collar, put it in a milk crate on his bicycle and rode away.
The next morning the owner of the dog found his pet floating in the canal.
Bail has been set at $30,000. Eloshway has been ordered not to have any contact with his uncle, his neighbor or any animals.
Rest in peace little dog.
