Dog who vanished after terrible car accident has finally been found

A dog who disappeared after a terrible car accident in mid-October has finally been found. The dog, named Obi, ran away after his owners were involved in an accident in northern Arizona and search teams have been on the lookout ever since.

On Saturday, the Yavapai Humane Trappers Animal Search and Rescue Facebook group alerted followers that the wayward dog was found, writing:

PRAISE THE LORD OBI IS SAFE!! IT TOOK A VILLAGE A REALLY BIG VILLAGE!

So much to say!! Wow Obi is safe!!!

The runaway dog was spotted several times after the car accident, but he was always too frightened to be captured. This time, however, he seemed to be tired of running and actually walked up to a man who reached out to those searching for him to let them know that he was safe. The group writes:

Tonight we got a call from a older gentleman who said he had Obi and described him to a T.

Obi walked up to this family he was done being away from his family!!
Big shout out as always to Britt Kendall with Tuba City Humane Society and Leann Weber who put alot of boots to the ground work on him, the locals in Kayenta were truly amazing, kind and compassionate and was willing to help us at every angle.

The group thanked those involved with the ongoing efforts to bring Obi home:

Obi’s family is truly amazing they got the word out and it had thousands upon thousands shared where we were meeting tourist out there that actually stopped in the area to look for him.
Also a big shout out to Hampton Inn in Kayenta they are truly amazing Animal loving people and we are so thankful for their hospitality and welcomed us with open arms!!
And as always Thank you Cheryl Naumann for always being her to advise us on our rescue trips!!
