British couple offers $40K to dog sit but there is a catch

Are you a dog lover looking to hang out with a pair of golden retrievers and take care of them for nearly $40,000 dollars a year? Well, look no more, because a couple in Knightsbridge, England posted an ad:

“A busy couple are looking for a Live In Housekeeper for their 6-storey town house in West London to help run their home and look after 2 dogs. This is an informal property and they need someone to keep on top of the house while they come and go and to have sole responsibility of the dogs in their absence.”

Getting ready to submit your resume? After all, there are lots of sloppy kisses, cuddle moments and genuine good times to be shared. There are a few more duties to be performed however. Check out the following list:

Responsibilities

• Daily Housekeeping to a high standard
• Laundry and Ironing when required
• Some PA duties – Calls, Diary Management, Vet Appointments etc
• Household Errands and Shopping
• Short Dog Walks
• Simple Cooking – evening meals and prep
• Assisting in other areas of the household when needed
• Working as a team to ensure everything is done to the highest possible standard
• Liaising with dog walker & cleaner
• General management of the property

The position is live in and occasional weekends will be required. By the way, you will also have to take calls and greet visitors. Oh my!

And now back to reality. In New York City, the average dog walker earns $16.50 an hour – no cleaning the six-story townhouse. In England, the average butler earns $60,000 a year. Maybe not such a great deal?
