Life has ended tragically for a small dog who was found wrapped in a garbage bag and discarded in a dumpster in Staten Island, New York. According to Friday’s ABC 7 News, the injured dog, dubbed “Patricia,” had been found by good Samaritans on Wednesday evening.
The abandoned and discarded Yorkshire Terrier was rushed to a veterinarian for urgent care, but she was so badly injured that she had to be humanely euthanized. The ASPCA confirmed Patricia’s death on Friday.
Nobody knows how long the six-pound dog was in the Charleston area dumpster before she was found – whoever threw her away may have knowledge of how her little body came to be so broken and investigators want to get to the bottom of the animal cruelty case.
Anyone with information about this tragic situation is asked to call NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
