Just nine pounds and who knows how much of that weight is caused by the filthy, matted coat this frightened little terrier has been forced to live inside of while the person who promised to care for her turned his back and left this tiny dog to suffer.

Brought into the high kill shelter SEAACA (Southeast Area Animal Control Authority) located in Downey, California, dogs are rarely groomed and are among the first to be euthanized on the date they are made available to the public for adoption or rescue. Click here for this dog’s adoption information.

ABOUT 17-05725 17-05725 is a white, female adult dog, that weighs approximately 9 lbs. She was impounded on 9/10/2016 from the City of Buena Park.”

“Available for adoption holds on 9/10/2016. Adoption holds must be placed in person. Adoption availability date 9/15/2016. Please visit SEAACA and ask for identification number 17-05725 to see me.”

A Facebook page for this dog can be found here.  How tragic that someone could neglect their dog to this point. “Look what humans do,” sadly stated animal advocates Sal Valdepena and Melissa Wolfe. Funds have been pledged for an approved rescue organization to help with this dog’s anticipated veterinarian expenses. Share this little dog’s plight with friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

The other shelter in Downey, a Los Angeles County Shelter, has had a grooming program for the last 8 years sponsored by the LA County Animal Care Foundation. When a dog comes in matted like this one, the dog is always groomed. The program is called Grooming Gives Hope; you can see some before and after photos, and donate to the program at their website:
