Cuddly senior dog feeling defeated after waiting 16 months to be adopted

PARSIPPANY, NJ – A senior dog, described as “cuddly and snuggly,” is feeling defeated as she continues to wait for someone to choose her to be their companion. The nine-year-old dog, named Piper, wants nothing more than to love and be loved.

Her adoption profile with Wise Animal Rescue reads:

Piper is the sweetest girl who just wants to be in your company! She loves to lay next to you on the couch and soak up your attention. She greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail and smile on her wrinkly face! Piper is quiet and affectionate. While Piper may be a golden girl, she still loves to play tug-of-war and spend time outside

But Piper’s endearing personality hasn’t attracted an adopter and the lack of a home has made this deserving senior girl feel defeated. A home to spend the remainder of her life in would change everything for Piper!

Medical considerations

The rescue agency writes:

Piper does have seizures which are being managed by medication that she will need for the rest of her life. She will need an owner who will be able to provide for her medical needs to make sure she is comfortable during her golden years. She has received all her vaccines, is microchipped, and is spayed. Due to her age, her health could change at any time, though, and we are looking for a family who understands and is prepared for this.
