Volunteers at Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform have reached out to their followers for help asking for an “urgent Christmas miracle.”
On Friday afternoon, the non-profit animal welfare and rescue organization received a call that indicated time was not on their side. A Labradoodle and her litter of eight puppies, that had been born on Thanksgiving Day, need a safe and qualified home until the puppies are weaned and able to be readied for adoption.

Labradoodles have become a popular crossbreed of Labrador Retriever and Poodle. The dogs are known for their intelligent, friendly and energetic qualities. They are known to be excellent family dogs as well as highly trained service animals.

The heartbreaking story began when the mother dog, who had been purchased by the owner’s daughter for $2,500 became pregnant. During the dog’s gestation period, the daughter left the home, leaving her elderly mother to care for the 75-pound mom dog and her puppies. The older woman has been diagnosed with asthma and lives alone; there is no one able to help. Her physicians have told her the dogs must go. There is no time to waste.
The dogs are already on their way to the rescue organization, but here’s the emergency:

Fosters are needed now.
Please read the list below and contact the rescue immediately if you can help:
• A foster who can take mom and puppies together, or
• Multiple coordinated fosters willing to help keep this family safe for the holidays
These babies are tiny, nursing, and vulnerable. Mom has done nothing wrong. She just needs a safe place to land while we figure out next steps.
If you have ever thought about fostering, this is the moment.
If you can open your home even temporarily, please speak up now.
