In Henderson, Nevada, residents of the closely knit community are heartbroken after a small dog was discovered in the trash barely alive and gasping for breath. A neighbor had heard the dog whimpering. Good Samaritans, who found the dog, rushed him to the Inspirada Animal Hospital for care.

According to Fox5 News, Veterinarian Robert Loose said his staff performed life-saving measures including three rounds of CPR, supplemental oxygen and medications.
Sadly, the dog did not survive. The dog was described as a 10 to 12 year old brown Maltese or poodle mix.
According to the Henderson Police Department, officers had been notified around 8 p.m. through a social media post circulating online. The dog was found around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Via Firenze and Via Da Vinci.
The incident is being investigated as an animal cruelty case, and a necropsy has been ordered to determine the dog’s cause of death.
