The Albuquerque Police Department in New Mexico responded to a strange call on November 11, but nonetheless, the officers responded with energy and compassion during the unusual pursuit.

The suspect on the run (not on the “lam”) had four legs, lots of energy and a pretty adorable pressed snout. Yes, a wild pig dashed through Albuquerque traffic dodging cars and officers. Maybe a bit of hard breathing from officers while running to capture the pig, but officers were safely able to capture the escapee.

though we can’t confirm if he’s facing “hog time” or just a stern talking-to.
We’re happy to report that no one was hurt, and the pig is currently being held at the Westside Shelter awaiting release on his own recognizance.
We’d like to thank our officers for their quick response, the public for their patience, and the pig for keeping things interesting.

Check out the great escape and the gentle capture:
Pretty darn cute don’t you think? Many thanks to the officers who rescued this little escapee with compassion and over the top cuteness.
