In a very sad and heartbreaking situation in Licking, Missouri, a kind, older man had made it his life’s mission to help the dumped dogs and cats no one wanted and keep them safe. Tragically, the man has passed away, and now all of the animals are being helped – thanks to the efforts of Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

The rescue efforts have taken the entire day and evening.

We are on our way back to St. Louis! We have 13 adult dogs, 1 very old senior, 2 young puppies, an older puppy, 2 cats, and sadly one deceased dog that we will have cremated. He was hit by a car right before we got there.

Many of the dogs and puppies had been living in feces, mud and freezing conditions.

It had been a long drive home, but everyone was given a warm, sudsy bath, vaccinations, a frozen peanut butter Cheerio Kong and blankets. Some of the dogs and cats have already found foster homes and will be taught how to walk on a leash – soon they will be looking for their new homes.

If you can’t foster but you can donate, every little bit helps!
