A woman living in Hill County Village in Texas has shared photos of a mysterious creature she noticed on her backyard surveillance camera just days ago. Since spotting the unusual animal, Tina Kahlig has employed the expertise of viewers and readers on social media to help her identify the unusual visitor.

According to Tina’s Facebook page, she watched the animal walk around her yard and then stopped to eat some berries that had fallen off a nearby bush. And so very curious as to what kind of animal it was, shortly after viewing the photos, Tina posted the photos to her Next Door app.

On her Facebook page, Tina post the photos asking:

What is this? Just randomly appeared in our yard !

As with everything that pops up on social media, opinions vary greatly from some people opining the creature was a “chupacabra” ( a mythical beast described as having glowing eyes with huge fangs) to a “cross between a coyote and a dog.” Veterinarians, however, who joined in the conversation, thought the animal was a dog with skin infections where his coat had fallen away.

Coydog, hybrid from female domestic dog and male coyote. Not terribly uncommon in outer urban settings. We see handful each year flying deer surveys. Basically a coyote on steroids and the head and shoulders are very large proportionately. Very hard to trap using standard techniques.

According to Wikipedia, a coydog is a canid hybrid resulting from a male coyote and female dog mating. A dogote is a hybrid with a dog father and a coyote mother.

Maybe there will be some answers? What do you think?
