In Chisago, Minnesota, a dog named Blue may think twice before venturing out again on an icy lake on warm days. On Friday, Blue went running on the lake with the thinning ice, and the dog fell through in the chilly water.

According to the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call came in concerning a mother and her daughter struggling out on the ice as they tried to rescue their dog that had fallen through the ice. Fortunately, the determined trio made it to a nearby canoe and were soon pulled to safety by neighbors and a deputy in the area.

The dog named Blue seemed a bit chilly, but was reported to be fine.

Moral: We’re close to ice out on many of our larger lakes. The ice is not safe. Blue fell through and you cou ld too! But if you end up in a pickle, we’re one call away. And if you’re in the area of Franconia/Scandia we may tap the help of these two, this mom / daughter made one heck of a rescue team!
