In a tragic story of a 17-year-old recent high school graduate who was planning to pursue a career in criminal justice, it had been on a beautiful afternoon while doing some local errands on her motorbike with her puppy, that resulted in her death after colliding with a large truck. Debora Abigail Veliz Reynosa, 17 died on September 20, after having been knocked her off her motorbike on a roundabout in Guatemala.
Reynosa’s newly adopted puppy, Boots, refused to leave the spot where his young owner died. Boots had just been adopted the day before from an abusive owner; Reynosa and the puppy had an immediate connection, and the puppy had been with her when the accident occurred, but miraculously survived without any serious injuries.
According to the Periodismo Independentiente, the driver of the truck,
caused a lot of shame for a little puppy who was also riding the motorcycle accompanying his owner. The little animal was crying on one side of the corpse and was in fear attended by rescuers. He was left aside for authorities to determine what will happen with this poor puppy.

When officers arrived at the heartbreaking scene, they secured the area and found the puppy clinging to his new owner. One officer stopped to comfort the puppy. The victim’s boyfriend has since adopted the puppy and has promised to give Boots the kind of life his young owner would have done.
An investigation into the terrible accident is ongoing. According to the DailyMail, police have since announced that they seized a truck suspected of being involved in the accident, however the driver is currently missing.
