In Indianapolis, authorities are asking for help identifying the person who abandoned an injured puppy on Monday at the Indianapolis International Airport. It was a security guard who found the puppy in a carrier.

According to Speedway Animal Rescue, the puppy was wrapped in bandages; there was concern the puppy was injured. The pup has since been dubbed “Boeing” and is approximately five months of age. He is being fostered by one of the rescue organization’s volunteers.

The rescue’s Facebook post has called out for help, hoping someone will come forward to help the rescue better understand the extent of Boeing’s injuries. For now, the puppy is reported to be doing well and will be vetted to help determine his present and future needs.

Boeing was not microchipped and is not available for adoption at this time.

SEEKING INFORMATION

This puppy, who we are naming Boeing, was abandoned today at the Indianapolis Airport. My *guess* is that he did not have a health certificate and the owner had to make a choice. If you are that owner, please contact us. You will not get in trouble. Your dog is safe, we just want information so that we can keep an eye on his injuries and better understand what he may need.

Boeing is approximately 4-5 months old, has stitches in his front leg/armpit, and a body bandage. He is neutered and does not have a microchip. He is safe in foster.

If you are a vet or vet tech and recognize Boeing, please reach out to us. Please share! We are going to get him set up with a vet appointment, but the more info we have the better.

Facebook

Why Boeing was abandoned is at this time unknown. Local authorities have launched an investigation. The airport is doing everything they can to investigate this matter. They are leaving Boeing’s care up to the rescue, and the rescue organization is leaving the investigation up to them. Speedway Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)3 and do not have the power or authority (or time or desire or money) to launch their own investigations and have full trust in the airport and the lengths they are going.
