Two rescue dogs have permanent scars after their previous owner had glued jewels onto the top of their heads. Meet Peanut Butter and Jelly; two bonded pooches who had identical marks on their heads, and that were surrendered to a California shelter.

According to Sonoma County Animal Services, costume jewels had been glued to their heads which had to be removed by a veterinarian. Months later, the hair on top of their heads has not grown back.

The 12-year-old dogs were then transferred to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue to help them find loving homes. Peanut Butter is a male beagle and pug mix (Puggle) and is active; he had become one of the staff favorites. He weighs 22 pounds, loves to explore and wagging his tail. Jelly is a female Chihuahua mix and weighs 14 pounds; her favorite activity is to snuggle. She loves attention and bounces “like a lamb when she gets excited.”

Right now the two are being fostered and have won the hearts of thousands on TikTok. Their adoption fee has been covered by one of their supporters. Lisa Arden, who is their foster mom, has created the popular social media account for the pups which has already garnered more than 2.7 million views.

This is the story of my foster dogs Peanut Butter & Jelly. Their story is a sad one, but hopefully one that will soon have a happy ending once they find their forever home. PB & J are just the best of friends who have had a bit of a rough life so far. But they’ve shown us once again how resilient senior dogs are and how much love senior dogs have to give, no matter what they’ve been through. Peanut Butter & Jelly are a bonded pair available for adoption together from Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco. Peanut Butter is 12 years young and he weighs 22 lbs, Jelly is 12 years young and weighs 13 lbs. #chihuahuastiktok #seniordogsoftiktok #rescuedogsoftiktok #adoptdontshop #fosterdog #fosteringsaveslives #chihuahuafanclub #muttvillesf #bondedpair
