In an early morning Melbourne commute, everyone smiled as an adorable Labrador retriever hopped on a train last Saturday heading to Flinders Street Station.

According to the Facebook page of Metro Trains Melbourne, the pooch named Storm boarded the train by himself at 8:20 in the morning from the Hoppers Crossing Station. Surveillance video footage captured the dog patiently waiting behind the yellow line before running up to the train car when the doors opened.

Storm stayed on the train line, Werribee, for nearly eight stops until he reached the Flinders Street Station in the city. Once the train stopped, a train driver was seen on video leading the dog to the hands of another employee at the station. The man used a thin string which doubled as a leash until Storm was safely far enough from the train and the tracks.

The attendant called the Lost Dog’s Home in North Melbourne to help find the sweet pup’s family. Meanwhile, Storm became the star of the station, and oh so many head pats and so much attention certainly would have made any friendly pooch’s morning excursion special.

Fortunately, Storm is microchipped and his owner was contacted. The family has been happily reunited and left lots of employees and train folks smiling from ear to ear.

Meanwhile, check out the video; it’s sure to put a smile on your face.
