The four-pound toy fox terrier, Pebbles, who held the title of the Guinness World Records oldest living dog, died on Monday at her home in Taylors, South Carolina. She was 22-years-old and just a few months shy of birthday number 23.
According to the dog’s Instagram account, Pebbles’ owners Bobby and Julie Gregory, were with her when she passed.
She was a once in a lifetime companion, and it was our honor to have had the blessings to have had her as a pet and a family member.

Pebbles was born March 28, 2000 and gained the title of the world’s oldest living dog after her owners read that Toby Keith, a 21-year-old chihuahua had been named the world’s oldest living dog. After submitting the information and proof of Pebbles’ age, in May – having been eight months older than Toby Keith, Pebbles was awarded the title.
Pebbles lived a life filled with love – the kind of life all of us wish we could give every dog. Pebbles loved listening to country music and trying new foods even though her veterinarian had placed her on a cat food diet for the last 10 years. During her lifetime, Pebbles had 32 puppies with her partner Rocky who died in 2016.
Pebbles loved everyone – she will be missed. Rest in peace sweetheart.

We’ve had chihuahua’s since 1977 and Poncho and Kiki lived to be 22 and 23. Chihuahua’s rarely seem to die naturally they make you take them to the vet to help them over to “Rainbow Bridge” My Molly was 18. Right now I have Eli 17 and Cookie 14 and both are in great health and all our dogs have eaten Kibbles and Bits and the occasional bite of people food. In very old age we feed chicken and rice with veggies because they do lose their teeth just like we do. 🙂 RIP Pebbles.
