When an officer from the Public Safety building in Georgetown, Texas had been locked out, it was Koda, the city’s fire dog who bravely came to the rescue.

The surveillance camera for the fire department caught Koda’s ingenuity as the golden retriever excitedly went to the front door – tail wagging and opened the door much to the relief of the officer. The first responder was so grateful, he lavished the pooch with tons of love and attention.

Koda is very attached to her handler and of course her best friend – Deputy Fire Marshall Jonathan Gilliam. The two travel the area together helping people become more aware of fire safety and prevention. And if that’s not enough to stand in awe of this beautiful pooch – Koda is also a registered therapy dog.
