A runaway pooch found herself in a most precarious situation this past week after she jumped over a waist-high concrete center wall and landed on a ledge over passing traffic. The incident occurred on Interstate 275 in Tampa; a passing motorist notified authorities.
According to Hillsborough County Animal Control officers, the terrified dog was trapped about 16 feet in the air, and she wasn’t moving. A video showed how the rescuers carefully approached the dog after blocking off a lane of traffic. A reassuring voice from one of the officers aimed towards the dog could be heard.
Finally the dog cooked up enough courage to be handled by the officer; his tail started wagging as he was carried safely to the ground.
The dog was microchipped and it wasn’t long before Sheeba was happily reunited with her family. There were no injuries,and all’s well that ends well.
