A “sweet senior” dog was recently picked up as a stray and taken to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh, New York,. The dog, named Precious, has a microchip, but her owner did not come to get her.

The animal shelter said:

Precious came to us as a stray, with a micro chip, and her owner never came in for her. We are so sad for this girl, but know that her true forever family is out there somewhere.

It’s hard to imagine why nobody wanted to take Precious back home. The shelter describes her wonderful attributes, writing:

Precious is calm, sweet, friendly and likes other dogs.

Precious wants to be in a home, with a family – not in a kennel run at an animal shelter. Please help her find a loving, committed home, where she can spend the twilight of her life.
