Sheriff’s Office seeks information about German shepherd found with badly injured neck

Shiawassee County, Mich. – The Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office has opened an investigation following the discovery of a German shepherd with a badly injured neck. According to the authorities, the injured dog was found at the corner of Newburg rd and Scribner rd. In Shiawassee Twp. and she may have been abandoned.

The agency said:

A vehicle described as a faded silver Dodge Grand Caravan with a broken passenger headlight and a damaged passenger fender, was seen in the area and the owner is being sought for questioning.

The veterinary team that examined and treated the dog believes that the deep wound to the throat area was caused by an embedded collar.

If anyone has information regarding ownership of this dog or vehicle, it is requested that they contact Shiawassee County Animal Control at (989) 743-2406. The Shiawassee County Humane Society is accepting donations to help with this dog’s veterinary expenses. Find the agency on Facebook here.
