A senior dog, picked up along the 105 freeway in Downey, California, and taken to the Seaaca (Downey) animal shelter, is scheduled to be put down on Wednesday, May 25. According to shelter notes, “No extensions will be given.”
The dog, dubbed Sonny, appears to have led a lonely life and it looks as if he may die alone, without ever knowing the joy of being someone’s beloved companion. Sonny’s advocate writes of his despair:
I wish I could say that I think he’d be adopted while at the shelter, but the sad reality is… he most likely won’t 💔
You can see sadness in his eyes, he has worn elbows from sleeping on concrete, you can tell that his body is beat up, his teeth are worn down, and he howls such a defeated and heartbreaking tune.
Sonny craves human affection – he desperately wants to love, and be loved. But if help doesn’t come soon, he will never have that chance.
80 lbs, approx 5+ years, came in with 22-09871 (adopted), able to handle, senior, thin, worn teeth, suspect osteoarthritis and/or hip dysplasia vs degenerative myelopathy vs other, pressure callouseson treatment for kennel cough, as of 5/18/22 heavy yellow eye discharge, nasal discharge, panting. Must receive commitment no later than 3:00 pm 5/25/22 and pick-up no later than 4:00 pm 5/25/22, will not hold past 4:00 pm 5/25/22. No extensions will be given
Please take a moment to share Sonny’s information – time is of the essence.
