For most devoted pet parents, we can’t even imagine not seeing or hugging our dog for three months, but Hugo, a two-year-old Golden retriever’s heartwarming reunion with his mom reminds us of the loyalty and love between our four legged companions and the humans who love them.
While Hugo had already been garnering nearly 40,000 followers on TikTok since Alexandra Owens, the pup’s human, started posting pictures of him as a puppy, the video of their reunion has caught more than three million views. Alexandra is from the United Kingdom, but lives with Hugo in Sydney, Australia. And for four years, Alexander was not able to visit her family because of Covid 19 restrictions, so when the borders opened up, Owens arranged to spend three months with her family. Hugo’s trainer kept watch over the sweet pup during his owner’s absence.
Of course, Alexandra never stopped missing her dog, and Hugo – might we add felt the same yearning all the way down to his beautiful plumed tail. Proof in point – check out the reunion:
