After nearly a year at shelter, dog has lost all hope of being loved

After nearly a year at a Texas animal shelter, a dog named King has lost all hope of ever being loved. The four-year-old dog’s entire demeanor has changed during his time at the Garland Animal Services facility.

Days ago, King’s advocate said:

Look at his picture in profile sheet below… vs him today He didn’t even bother to lift his head when people walk by. Why would he…he’s been here long enough (its been 1 YR this month) it feels like even he knows his odds of leaving alive are slim. The defeat in his eyes is heartbreaking

Imagine waking up every day in the same kennel run, without a family to greet you and shower you with love. Imagine not having a yard to play in or someone to take you for walks at the park. Imagine the sadness. This is King’s reality and it has taken a devastating toll on him.
