Two senior dogs, who are bonded to one another, have been at an animal shelter in Amityville, New York, since January 2021. Two days ago, the Babylon Animal Shelter posted a photo of Willow and Wilbur, explaining their desire to see them enjoy the comfort of a home in their last days:

Wilbur physically could be near the end of his journey and we would love for them to have the opportunity to be in a home together with love.

According to the animal welfare agency, both dogs arrived as “strays” and they were in “rough shape.” The shelter describes their ongoing health concerns:

This is a bonded pair of senior dogs and they will need continued care under the close eye of a Veterinarian. Both dogs have skin issues which have greatly improved and Wilbur has the added issues of being very unsteady on his feet and it is hard for him to maintain his weight properly.

With information included about their demeanor:

Wilbur & Willow love the other dogs they meet and they also both cat tested well at the shelter. That said, the can at times be protective of each other around other dogs. These guys are very social to all the people that they meet. At times they can be overzealous about taking treats from the hand and when they are dropped on the ground. For this reason we do not recommend a home with young kids.
