Two dogs died from heat stroke inside of a parked car while their owner attended a class about becoming a professional dog trainer. According to multiple sources, the woman was attending the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers, in High Ridge, MO, when her dogs died from excessive heat inside of the car they had been left in.

KMOX News reports that the woman had left her vehicle running, with the air-conditioning on, but the car shut off, possibly because it ran out of gas. The incident, described as a terrible accident, happened on Wednesday afternoon when the temperature climbed to 90+ degrees. The dogs, a German shepherd and a retriever, were dead by the time the woman returned to her vehicle.

Tom Rose of the Tom Rose School, said:

It was just a terrible accident. The owner of the dogs was incoherent. It’s a horrible thing, and she was so upset.”

The police were apparently not notified because the situation was considered to be accidental.

  1. Accidental? why in heaven’s name did she even have the dogs in the car with her if she was attending a class and couldn’t check up on them? She want’s to be a dog trainer? She hasn’t enough sense!

  2. OMG: when will people learn that it’s not safe to leave anyone (human or animal) in the car on a warm day???

Someone who is training to become a dog trainer should know better!!!

I am not buying the “it’s an accident” story. This sad event happens many times during the summer……. people should be aware of this and leave their animals at home (where they are more comfortable anyway with their food, water & the super soft Snuggie in their bed)……

I love my furbabies but when I have to go out and run errands, they are safe at home. We have fun when I return and give them yummies for behaving…… play fetch, have tummy rubs and snuggles……
